About Midnight on Mars III

District Running Collective (DRC) hosted the Midnight on Mars 3 Miler, the official launch event of DRC. Midnight on Mars provided an opportunity for DC Runners to run the H-Street Corridor and Capitol Hill neighborhoods with one hundred of their closest friends at the midnight hour. This unique take on the traditional 5K allowed participants to experience DC in a new and unique way.

This year, Midnight and Mars will be a weekend long experience that includes the introduction of The Running Room to the District. The Running Room, a “community” space for runners will provide the DC fitness community the opportunity to connect, fellowship, and showcase around a common goal.

The Venue

This year Midnight on Mars found a new home. We are transforming the beautiful Gallery O on H into a runners haven utilizing two floors of Gallery Space and outdoor courtyards.

The first level of the gallery will house "The Running Room" (TRR) curated by DRC. TRR will feature DRC merchandise and visuals alongside a few brands that align with the ideals of the urban running scene.

The gallery second level will not only be a the pickup location for your DRC race packets but also a fitness hub featuring some of DC's top fitness trainers. It will be a great time to learn more about fitness opportunities around the city as well as tips on how to become better runners.

The courtyard will feature music both nights. We are collaborating with the Gallery O on H's Friday music in the courtyard. This will also be the holding location for the runners as we prepare to take off Saturday night.

UNDO Magazine

Our friends from Undo-Ordinary are going to join us in the "Running Room". They are coming down from New York spreading their message of where fashion meets sport. Street athletes who are redefining what it is to live a life in sweat. A training platform to UNDO excuses and UNlock potential. UNDO is a fitness “pop-up.” The city is our playground.

What is UNDO Magazine?

UNDO Magazine is a quarterly editorial created to expose a lifestyle of fashion, fitness, and community. Created by some of the top artists, athletes, and creative contributors in the world. UNDO-Ordinary is a pop-up fitness collective based in New York with a worldwide message and point of view.

UNDO-Ordinary is founded by two ultramarathoner’s Robin Arzon, a corporate lawyer turned fitness journalist and creative visionary Nai Vasha. UNDO promotes a healthy lifestyle, blurring the lines between fitness and fashion, and living in a life of sweat. Fueled by the ethos that there is no finish line. UNDO channels the collective energy of the world’s running crews, a family forged in sweat. The cornerstones of health and wellness are integral to their tool kit.

Designer and illustrator Sophia Chang joins Robin and Vasha to create UNDO Mag. Spirited in captivating art, dynamic photography and acute juxtaposition the aesthetic breathes a new life into fitness periodicals. Collectively they put a stop to the never ending pendulum of excuses and started a new motion towards strength, nutrition, and sustainability.

This magazine is a visual representation of our culture. Our community. It is every bead of creativity, tact, and sweat bottled up and served to you. Dream big & do more. Make today matter. UNDO-Ordinary.

DRC x ICNY

This year we have teamed up with the guys from ICNY to provide each runner with a pair of their 3M reflective socks. Since we are running at night we want to make sure we are visible while running the streets of DC. These socks will help us do just that.

About ICNY
In 2012, designer Mike Cherman was struck by a car while riding his bike. This unfortunate event inspired an idea to design stylish yet functional clothing, with the goal of providing added safety and increased visibility. By utilizing reflective materials on key areas of apparel and accessories, ICNY is able to provide pedestrians, runners, and cyclists alike with clothing to keep them safe during any activity, while looking good doing it. The philosophy behind ICNY is the continued exploration of boundaries with fashion and function, aesthetics and athletics, and the evolution of hi-visibility.

More about the District Running Collective

District Running Collective (DRC) is an urban movement that consists of runners of all levels that take to the streets of Washington DC to promote culture, community & diversity through running and healthy living.

Our goal is to change the way people think about running in DC. As a crew,we inspire and motivate one another to push past any perceived fitness/running limits. As a movement, we work together to elevate running as a sport while positively impacting our community.

We push each other, whether it’s the extra mile, the longer race or faster pace, we do it as a community with no (wo)man left behind.
